Welcome to Kill Monotony, the former Rock Fairy. This is another stupid blog where I go on writing about my boring life. Every now and then I make something for you people. So stick around and maybe read a blog entry, or use a resource.

Hey, I'm Tina, a music-craving 21 year-old student from Trier, Germany! The third semester of my studies (English Language, Linguistics & Literature major, Computational Linguistics minor) is about to start and I'm sort of busy, but I try to keep this blog updated. By the way, I really love cats and BBT and enjoy rock music, e.g. Marilyn Manson or Bullet for my Valentine. more?

    About this version

    Title: Neon Dinosaur

Seems that I like girls with animal heads, huh? ... This time I was inspired by music by Steve Aoki and MSTRKRFT ♥ I always wanted to use neon colours, and now I've got the right layout for them ... I'm glad this design fits to the kind of music I recently listen to (electrooo!) & I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

    History lesson

I started in 2001 with my first 'homepage', hosted at Beepworld. It was a premade layout thing. After 1.5 years of happiness with this host, I saw someone's homepage, self-made and at Geocities. So I thought 'Hey, that can't be that hard, let's try!' - and my first HTML & CSS page called 'Schokohazi' (~ choco bunny in English) came online. But after 3 months I realized that the traffic limit wasn't enough and that the host was ocassionally offline. After lot of searching (and 1 year of no interest in my site at all) I found the host Piranho. First, I thought, that's it! But with its ads it was really annoying. So, after all, I found a good host (Arcor), but this one didn't offer PHP. So I moved again, to Pytal, were I had to pay to be ad-free, but that was ok. But in May 2009 I bought my first domain, Kill Monotony, and I think, here's the end of my travel and I have finally found my place on the net.

    Why Kill Monotony?

I spent 2 weeks thinking about a good domain name, and in the end I chose Kill Monotony, because monotony is one of the most seen things on the WWW - from webmasters who are following all the "trends", such as the notebook thing, the blog layout (simple & no images), celebrity layouts or anything else. So I decided to choose that slogan, because I don't think I'm following any of those trends and my website could be counted as an "individual". Kill Monotony challenges all the people out there to make the best out of their talents and to be individual.
BTW: the domain names I did not choose but are really nice can be found under Content > Domain names.
